Twice Gold: Mahrs Brau from Bamberg wins at prestigious beer festival in Budweis
A great honor for the Bamberger Mahrs Brau: During 26th International Beer Festival in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, the Upper Franconian tradition brewery was twice awarded the Golden Brau Siegel. The festival is part of more than 25 years of the most prestigious and famous events in the Czech Republic and Europe.
Bamberg, February 11, 2016 – For a quarter of a century will take place one of the most prestigious professional meetings in the field of beer with the International Beer Festival Budweis in neighboring Czech Republic. Highlight of the event is the presentation of the “gold Brewer’s Seal” – the Golden Brau seal. The Mahrs brewery from Bamberg was twice itself win this venerable Price: Once in the category “Schankbier Hell” for Mahrs Bräu Hell and another time in the category “Light” beers for Mahrs Bräu Light Summer Pils.
At a total of five days, from 1 to 5 February, tasted just as strict as star-studded jury a variety of submitted beers. Additionally monitored external experts from TÜV SÜD and Bureau Veritas competition. On February 6, finally, the results were announced solemnly.
Stephan Michel, CEO and brewmaster of Mahrs Brau Bamberg, adopted the double gold award with pride. “We speak always of Mahrs all things, so far is the Gold Seal Brewer’s a wonderful confirmation of our daily work. However, this price is not just me, it goes especially to our great Brauer Team. “By winning in Budweis to the already well-stocked showcase the Upper Franconian tradition brewery fills two more prestigious medals. “The price is one in a sense quite Bamberg,” says Stephan Michel. “For we maintain here a brewery and tavern tradition to which can envy many cities and regions.”
